  • What are the conditions to rent a motorcycle?

At the day of departure, you must be over 25 years old, hold a motorcycle license validated since more than 2 years, have all the physical capabilities necessary to operate a motorcycle and have a personal means of payment, the rule being that the tenant is the payer.

This means that if you are the tenant you will not be able to present your spouse's bank card for example.

If you're between 21 and 25 years old, you must hold a validated motorcycle licence more than 3 years (including 1 driving car license). You'll pay a "young driver" supplement per rental day, as specified in the general rental conditions.

  • I lost my driving license, can I still rent a motorcycle?

Statements of loss of theft of the driver license are not accepted. So you cannot rent a motorcycle if you cannot present a valid license.

  • I have a foreign driving license. Can I use it to rent a motorcycle in your agencies?

We accept international driving licenses which indicate that you are authorized to drive a motorcycle similar to the one you rent, only if accompanied by your original driving license.

Here are some examples of driving licenses that we do accept:

European driving license (Germany, Italy, France, England, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Danemark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Holland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden) : A

Canadian driving license : Class 6A for all provinces except Ontario : Class M

USA driving license : All 50 states require approval of your motorcycle license which is equivalent to the motorcycle you are renting.

    Australian driving license : R

  • What is the Securit Deposit? Will it be cashed?

The security deposit is intended to cover any damage that may occur during your rental, as well as additional billings (extra kilometers, extra days, fuel upgrade, etc.).

It consists in an imprint of your bank card which is made at the time of departure. It will not be cashed unless you have additional billings upon returning the rental motorcycle. The amount of the security deposit may vary depending on which insurance you choose.

  • What insurance do you offer on your rentals?

All Universal Riders motorcycles are insured against any material and/or physical damage suffered by the passenger of the rented motorcycle.

We also offer an additional guarantee for the driver, this one being a daily fixed supplement.

  • What is the Damage Deductible? And the Theft Deductible?

The Deductible is the minimum amount you will pay in case of an accident or theft. This amount can be reduced by susbcribing an optional insurance before to rent your motorcycle.

Have a look at our Gold insurance before you confirm your rental.

  • In which cases is the tenant not covered by the damage deductible?

The tenant will not be covered by the damage deductible in the following cases:

    - The use of the motorcycle by another person who is not designated on the rental contract
